Suspect sentenced to more than 50 years for Upstate double murder

An Upstate man will spend more than half a century in prison for a double murder in Spartanburg, nearly five years ago. In October of 2020, Spartanburg County Deputies responded to a reported shooting on Walden Circle.

Upon arrival, two victims were found and they both were killed in the shooting. The victims have been identified as 51 year old, Kelli Eileen Curran and 37 year old, Timothy Keith Thompson II.

Court records show that Curran called 9-1-1 following the shooting. She reported that a group of men came to their house and knocked on the door, stating their car broke down.

The men were invited inside and then shot the couple and proceeded to rob them. The men were later identified as Tyleek Rayquan Johnson, Deandre Fuller and Kenyatta Lebby.

Johnson was found guilty of two counts of murder, armed robbery, burglary and multiple weapons violations. He's been sentenced to 55 years in state prison
