A wanted suspect is in custody after reportedly shooting himself accidentally during a an Upstate traffic stop. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a Deputy was stopped a vehicle near Beaumont Avenue and Isom Street in Spartanburg.
When the driver stopped the deputy discovered the driver was suffering from a gunshot wound. The Sheriff's Office says the driver admitted that he shot himself while trying to hide his gun. The suspect who's identity has not been released was transported to the hospital.
He was arrested on a warrant for 2nd degree domestic violence and may face additional charges from Monday's incident.
