A suspect is dead after a deputy involved shooting in Western North Carolina over the weekend. The McDowell County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to a report of domestic violence in the Woodlawn Community, Sunday.
The Sheriff's Office says deputies encountered the suspect, a struggle ensued and the suspect then reportedly displayed a shotgun. Deputies then opener fire, shooting and killing the suspect.
The NCBI has been called into investigate the shooting, no deputies were injured in the incident.
McDowell County Sheriff Ricky Buchanan said "This was a terrible situation that our guys were placed in and forced to use deadly force."
