A suspect is in custody after being shot during an attempted burglary in the Upstate, over the weekend. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Lakeview Circle, around 3AM Saturday.
Deputies say a resident of the home fired a gun and hit the suspect who was trying to break-in. The suspect then fled the scene.
About 4 hours later, the Sheriff's Office got a call from St. Francis Hospital saying that a man had come in there with a gunshot wound. Deputies say the man is believed to be the suspect, but they have not released his identity.
The suspect is expected to recover from the shooting, he's charged with 1st degree burglary.
