A report of a suspicious package shutdown part of Downtown Greenville and prompted two schools to go on a "secure hold". The Greenville Police Department responded and by 11AM Wednesday, the area of East North Street between Spartanburg Street and Cabot Court was blocked off.

The Police Department was urging drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area. East North Street Academy and Greenville Middle Academy were both placed on "secure hold" status while the package was being investigated.

The package was cleared and the roads were re-opened. There have been no details released regarding what the package contained or how it was deemed to be suspicious in the first place.
