A possible road fee increase could be coming to residents of the State's largest county. Greenville County Councilman Ennis Fant proposed a hike of ten dollars to vehicle property taxes that would go to road maintenance fees. The idea was introduced at Tuesday night's Council meeting.
Greenville County had the same fee in place before cutting it last year in response to economic issues from the pandemic. This comes after the fee was raised in 2017 which was later ruled invalid by the State Supreme Court. The proposal has been sent to the Council's Finance Committee. It will have to be recommended by the committee and pass by vote two more times.
