The Greer Police Department issued the following media release Wednesday.
On April 17th our agency was contacted by the Greenville County School District concerning information they had received concerning a teacher/coach that may have had an inappropriate relationship with a former student.
Detectives with our agency immediately began an investigation into the alleged incident and were able to obtain warrants on Erie Jarod Williams.
Williams was arrested yesterday evening by detectives with our agency for the following offenses:
· Sex / Sexual Battery with a Student 16 or 17 years of age, no aggravated force or coercion (2 Counts)
· Minor / Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor
In a statement released to local media the Greenville County School District said Williams had been placed on administrative leave April 22 when the district learned of the allegations and a decision about his employment will be made following a review of Greer Police evidence.
