A teenage girl is dead after police say she was shot by her boyfriend in the Pee Dee area, last month. Police responded to a shooting at the Village of St. Claire Apartments in Manning, March 20th.
Upon arrival, officers found a 17 year old girl suffering from gunshot wounds. Officials say 17 year old, Jaela Hilton was killed in the shooting. Police believe that the shooting was accidental. The victim's boyfriend 18 year old, Khalil Gillard has been arrested in connection to the shooting. He's charged with voluntary manslaughter and a weapons violation.
Police say, Gillard was holding the gun when it went off and the victim was struck. The victim's family says she was two months pregnant at the time of her death. The investigation is ongoing and authorities say additional charges could be forthcoming.
