An Upstate teenager has been arrested after being caught with a gun at an area high school. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a student at Boiling Springs High was found with a gun Tuesday morning.
School Resource Officers received a tip Monday that a student had a gun pulled on them. After receiving that information Monday night, officers and school administrators formulated a plan to address the issue. As soon as the student arrived Tuesday morning he was searched and a pistol was found in his waistband.

Good morning Boiling Springs High School Families this is Mr. McQuigg. This morning, our SROs, acting on a tip they received and assisted by our Administration, took a student into custody. The student was later found to be in possession of handgun. The student was arrested, without incident, shortly after arriving on campus and removed from the school by our law enforcement partners. We are thankful to our BSHS Families for doing their part to keep our students and staff safe by speaking up when they see or hear something that concerns them. We are also thankful to our SROs for building the relationships needed to establish trust and open lines of communication with our families. We will continue to do all we can to provide the safest environment possible at BSHS. Today’s arrest shows how committed we are to that mission. The 15 year old boy is charged with unlawful carry, having a weapon n school grounds and possession of a stolen weapon. He was transported to the Department Of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, because of his age his identity has not been released. "
