A teenager is dead after a shooting at a bus stop in Cherokee County, Wednesday morning. As we previously reported, School District Officials reported that the shooting happened on West Rutledge Avenue in Gaffney, just before 7AM.
The Cherokee County Coroner's Office says 17 year old, Jomilton Sentell Fair was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say a fight led to the shooting and more than a dozen students were on the bus and witnessed the incident. The suspect who has not yet been identified reportedly got into a waiting vehicle and was driven away from the scene.
SLED has been called into help investigate. Students in Cherokee County just returned to class this past Monday.
