Three people are dead and another is injured after a crash in Western North Carolina, Monday night. The crash happened around 7:40PM near the McDowell-Rutherford County line.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol says, the driver of a Honda SUV tried to pass several cars on Highway 221 when it a Toyota head on. Both the driver and the passenger in the Honda died at the scene.
The passenger in the Toyota also was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was airlifted to the hospital.
The passenger in the Honda was identified as Katherine Jennings and the passenger of the of the Toyota was identified as Christopher Corn.
The identity of the other person who died in the crash has not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
