Three people are hospitalized following a plane crash in Western North Carolina. The Sheriff's Office in Transylvania County says the small plane went down around 6:30 Thursday evening in a remote wooded area of the county.
Emergency crews responded and found the wrecked single engine plane and two passengers. The 3rd crash victim has already gotten out of the woods and was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Asheville's Mission Hospital.
The other two victims were airlifted to Greenville Memorial to be treated for their injuries. The plane was said to have been rented from Franklin Air Services. The FAA and NTSB are both investigating the incident, there's been no word yet on what caused the crash.
