A toddler is dead after drowning in an Upstate pool over the weekend. The Anderson County Coroner's Office responded to a home on McAlister Road in Williamston around 10:40 Saturday morning.
The 18 month old boy was found in the pool at the home by his father, who performed CPR until EMS arrived. The child was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 11:30 AM.
The coroner says, 18 month old Josue Hernandez was able to get out of the home and got into the pool while his family was sleeping. No indications or signs of foul play were found in the initial investigation.
The incident is still under investigation by the Coroner's Office, Anderson County Sheriff's Office, SLED and DSS. No charges have been announced, as of the time of this report.
