Two arrested in connection to deadly WNC shooting

Two suspects have been charged in connection to a fatal shooting in Western North Carolina, late last week. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Brevard Road in Asheville, just before 1PM Friday afternoon.

Deputies arrived and found a man identified as 44 year old, Jonathan Torres dead from a gunshot wound. Investigators say 18 year old, Izaiah Smith-Sheridan was arrested and is charged with 1st degree murder.

On Monday, a 2nd suspect 37 year old Cory Mitchell Garrison was arrested for accessory after the fact and a weapons violation.

Investigators say the shooter and the victim knew each other, but they have not released any information on a possible motive.
