Two people who were wanted on out of state warrants are in custody after being arrested in the Upstate over the weekend.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says, 26 year old Cassidy Diane Loper and 31 year old, Lewis Ray Stewart of Walhalla were wanted on warrants from Rabun County, Georgia for drug trafficking and weapons charges.
Oconee Deputies were serving those warrants Saturday, when they located Loper and Stewart inside a home in Westminster. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
The Sheriff's Office says, Stewart tried escaping the Oconee County Jail through a bathroom vent Monday morning, he was pulled out of the vent and never got out of the building. Stewart and Loper are being held in Oconee County, pending extradition back to Georgia.
