Two suspects are in custody after a shooting last weekend in Western North Carolina. The Asheville Police Department says, the shooting happened early Sunday morning in the city's downtown area.

24 year old, Antwan Edward Johnson Jr. and 21 year old, Nasir Marlun Davidson were taken into custody earlier this week, for their alleged roles in the shooting.

Police say that Davidson was taken into custody without incident, he faces charges of going armed to terrorize the public and shooting inside the city limits.

Police say, when they made contact with Johnson he fled on foot and dumped a bag that contained two handguns and fentanyl inside. He was later taken into custody.

Johnson faces a long list of charges that include multiple weapons violations, drug trafficking, resisting arrest and a probation violation among other charges.

The Asheville PD says the investigation is ongoing and they believe there are additional suspects in the shooting and more charges are expected in the coming weeks.
