Two convicted for setting fires in Western North Carolina

Two Western North Carolina have been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to setting multiple fires in Buncombe County. Both 24 year old, Blake Cameron Williams and 21 year old, Anthony Dewayne Boyd pled guilty to multiple counts of arson and destruction of property.

The charges stem from fires that were intentionally set that destroyed barns and other farm structures. Both men have been sentenced to a minimum of 44 moths and a max sentence of nearly 8 years, they also have been ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution.


In November of 2021, Boyd, Williams and a third suspect, 28 year old Ashley Debra Neal were arrested after an investigation by the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office and North Carolina Bureau Of Investigation.

The case against alleged co-conspirator Ashley Neal is still pending and has not yet been resolved.
