The SC Highway Patrol reports that a wrong-way driver caused a crash near the 63 mile marker of I-85 in Spartanburg County, early Friday morning. The crash shutdown down southbound traffic for several hours.
Troopers report that the driver of a 2015 Hyundai was traveling north in the south bound lane and struck the driver of a 2023 Hyundai, both drivers died in the collision.
The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office has not yet released the identities of the deceased. The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
