Two people are dead after crashing in a vehicle while allegedly evading deputies in the Upstate. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says, a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a Honda sedan just before 2AM Sunday near Anderson and White Horse Roads.
The driver refused and led deputies on a chase. The pursuit was called off as it approached I85. Later the vehicle was reportedly found after crashing and catching fire.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver lost control trying to merge onto I85 and hit a concrete barrier wall. The two people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
They have not been identified, as of the time of this report. The crash remains under investigation.
