Two people are dead after separate weekend crashes in Greenville County. The first collision involved a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. That crash occurred around 5:40 Saturday Morning on Rock Quarry Road in Greenville.
Corporal David Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol reports , that a pedestrian was hit by a Chevy Truck while in the roadway. The driver of the truck was not injured, the pedestrian died at the scene. The victim has not yet been identified.
The second crash happened just after 1 PM Saturday on Jones Mill Road in Simpsonville. The Highway Patrol says, a Kia Sedan crossed the centerline and hit a Ford sedan head on. The driver of the Kia, the driver and passenger in the Ford were all injured and taken to an area hospital. The passenger in the Ford later died there from her injuries.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office has identified the deceased victim as 74 year old, Janet Lynn Price. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
