Two people are dead after two separate crashes in the Upstate over the weekend. Both fatal collisions happened in Greenville County. The first occurred around 4:45 Saturday morning on Old Easley Bridge Road, about 3 miles west of Greenville.
The driver of a Kia Sedan ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The 2nd fatal wreck happened around 5:15 Saturday evening on Highway 20 near Smith Street, about 3 miles south of Piedmont. Master Trooper Gary Miller of the South Carolina Highway Patrol says, the driver of a Pontiac Firebird ran off the left side of the road, hit an embankment and overturned.
The driver of the Firebird was pronounced dead on the scene, a passenger in the vehicle was injured and taken to an area hospital. Neither of the deceased drivers have been identified, as of this time.
