Details are still limited but two police officers are injured after a shooting in Downtown Greenville. The Greenville Police Department responded to a reported assault on North Main Street, around 12:30 PM Monday. Officials say one officer was shot and another was injured.
The 2nd was said not to be a shooting injury. Both officers have been taken to a hospital, to be treated. There's been no update on either's condition. Police say, a suspect is in custody, however their identity has not been released, at this time.
Greenville County Sheriff's Deputies have been called into assist with the investigation. As of 2:15PM, a large portion of Downtown was roped off with crime scene tape and part of the area was closed to traffic.
