Two Upstate men will serve time in prison after being convicted of federal drug charges trafficking earlier this week.

Joshua Keith Price and Mark Anthony Caldwell pleaded guilty to drug distribution and possession of a gun during drug trafficking, Monday.

The investigation began in 2021 after police in Union received complaints about probable drug trafficking from citizens of the town. A traffic stop in July of that year led to Caldwell's arrest for fentanyl trafficking.

6 months later, a search warrant was executed on a home in Union, and officers seized fentanyl, steroids, multiple guns and a large amount of cash. Both Caldwell and Price were arrested in the raid.

Last year, the charges became federal when the DEA took on the case and the U.S. Attorney's Office decided to prosecute. Price has been sentenced to nearly 9 years in prison, Caldwell is set to serve 11 years.
