A newly renovated building at an Upstate college was unveiled this Wednesday afternoon. Tri-County Technical College opened the doors on Oconee Hall after the completion of a 22 million dollar project to upgrade the building.

Oconee Hall was 1st built in 1980 and was the 1st multi-level building on the Pendelton Campus. Today, it remains the busiest academic hub on campus. Nearly 80% of students take at least one class in the building.

The upgrades include new additional classrooms, a study lab, offices and an outdoor terrace area. College President Dr. Galen Dehay says most of the 22 million dollars for the project came from public funding. He thanked the State Legislature for their help with the funding.

Officials at the college say students will begin taking classes in the newly renovated building in Spring of next year.
