The total of 6 new pieces of legislation would take other measures like tightening border security by revoking passports for members of foreign terrorist groups and making sanctuary cities ineligible for federal funding.

U.S. Custom and Border Protection says last December was a record month for migrant encounters with 250,000.

Duncan said in a release on the newly proposed bills “Border security is national security, and I am confident my immigration package will begin to take necessary steps to combat the southern border crisis and safeguard our national security."
