The Highway Patrol is investigating a collision involving a Greenville County Sheriff's Deputy. That collision occurred just after 10PM Friday night, after a deputy initiated a traffic stop, off North Pleasantburg and Montebello Drive in reference to a traffic related offense.
The suspect refused to stop and struck another GCSO vehicle at the traffic stop location. Both the suspect, additional passenger, and the GCSO Deputy were injured and transported to a hospital.
The driver and passenger’s condition are unknown at this time. The deputy is expected to recover. Preliminary investigations indicate deputies were not engaged in a pursuit despite the driver’s failure to stop.
