A wanted Upstate man is now in custody several states away after fleeing this area. Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Kevin Bobo says, 19 year old Almalik Geter Jr. has been arrested in Newark, New Jersey. Geter had active warrants in Spartanburg County for 2nd Degree Domestic Violence, Destroying An Electronic Monitoring Device and Escape.

He's currently being held in New Jersey and Lt. Bobo says it's unclear whether he will fight being extradited back to South Carolina. The Sheriff's Office says if he does fight it, they will seek a Governor's Warrant to go and get him.
Despite being just 19 years old, Geter has a documented criminal history, as he's been arrested 8 times in the last two years. He was captured by the U.S. Marshals with assistance from New Jersey law enforcement agencies.
