
An Upstate man is in custody on a list of charges, as police say, he led them on a high speed chase after arranging a sexual encounter with a minor. The Laurens Police Department reports that 38 year old, Thomas Durrell Adams showed up Monday to meet what he thought was a 14 year old child.

When detectives tried to apprehend Adams, he fled in his vehicle and lead police on a high speed chase through the town of Laurens. Stop sticks were used and the vehicle became disabled and hit another vehicle. No injuries were reported to the other driver.
Adams was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. A search of the vehicle revealed multiple guns including an AR-15 style rifle with hundreds of rounds of ammo. Over $18,000 worth of counterfeit merchandise and nearly 14 grand in cash were found in the vehicle as well.
Adams faces charges for criminal sexual conduct with a minor, sexual solicitation of a minor, failure to stop, distribution of counterfeit merchandise and a weapons violation.
