An Upstate man is charged with felony DUI after a crash that killed a teacher. 28 year old, Preston Luke Sheppard was arrested on Monday. The charge stems from a crash on April 22nd, that killed 31 year old, Stephen Lee Jennings of Union.

The collision happened around 8AM that morning on Whitmire Highway near Clairmont Road in Union County. The Highway Patrol says Sheppard was driving a bucket truck when he drifted left of center, hitting the Ford Expedition Jennings was driving head on.
Jennings who was a first year music teacher at Sims Middle School in Union, was head to school when the crash occurred. Sheppard is being held without bond in the Union County Jail.
