A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in the Upstate, Thursday morning. The Greenville Police Department and Greenville County Coroner's Office both responded to the Spinx station on Rutherford Road, around 1:30 this morning.
Upon arrival, a man was found laying in the roadway after being hit by a car. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, he's been identified as 34 year old, Mario Carter. Officials say, an ambulance was dispatched to pick Carter up about 10 minutes prior, but he ran away when EMS arrived.
