An upstate man has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of murder. The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office says, 22 year old Sosa Mandiez Croft was convicted late last week, on charges of murder, armed robbery and a weapons violation.
The charges stem from the 2019 fatal shooting of 16 year old, Mauldin High student, Joshua Meeks. The victim's vehicle was found at Croft's apartment complex. Investigators say, Croft was seen on surveillance video covered in blood purchasing cleaning products that were later found in the vehicle.
Court documents revealed that Croft shot Meeks in a robbery attempt, thinking he had money. However, Meeks has just ten dollars on him during the robbery.
