A Greenville man will serve more than half a dozen years after pleading guilty to threatening a federal judge. The US DOJ says 44 year old Alvin Bernard Parks sent a letter to a U.S. District Court Judge that contained threats.

The letter said " you best to make sure they lock me away for good cause I’m going to kill you or blow that courthouse up.” The letter had the return address of the Greenville County Detention Center where Parks was housed.

Parks has been sentenced to 7 years in federal prison. There's no parole in the federal system.
