A Spartanburg man will be long past retirement age if he serves every day of the sentence for murdering his common-law wife...and the judge says that's what he'll have to do. Prosecutors told the judge 44-year old Adrian McClintock shot 37-year-old Temisha Collier in the chest during an argument in the couple's home, then in the back as she tried to run away. Her body was found on the front steps in June of 2018 with six bullet wounds.

McClintock had vanished by the time deputies got to the house on Tamara Way and stayed on the run for nearly a year. Investigators say he eventually confessed to the shooting when he was arrested in Baltimore in April of 2019 and was returned to Spartanburg County for trial. He pleaded guilty to murder and possession f a weapon in a violent crime. Monday. Judge Cole sentenced him to 32 years with no possibility of parole. He'll still be behind bars when he turns 75.
