The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people were injured after a crash involving an Upstate police officer. The two vehicle collision happened just after 10 pm Tuesday night, on Highway 290 and Groce Road near Byrnes High School.
Troopers have confirmed that a Lyman Police Officer was involved in the crash. Both the officer and the driver of a Toyota Prius were transported to an area hospital to be treated for what were described as minor injuries.
Troopers say that the officer was in route to a call and had his lights and sirens going when the wreck occurred. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
