An Upstate School District has issued a warning to parents. Around 4 PM Wednesday afternoon, the Greenville County School District sent a message to parents addressing safety concerns. Those concerns have become heightened after the mass school school shooting in Texas.

The message said that social media posts had been circulating suggesting parents go and test the security of the district's schools themselves. The District says that behavior would be inappropriate and that concerned parents should follow proper protocols. The District added that is runs security tests of its schools on a regular basis.
The District has been discussing adding the Evolv weapons detection system to its schools. Those discussions ramped up after 12 year old, Jamari Jackson was fatally shot and Greenville's Tanglewood Middle School in late March.
