An Upstate security guard has been charged with giving false testimony in court. SLED says, 39 year old MacArthur Wright Jr. was arrested late last week for perjury.
The charge stems from Wright testifying during a trial back in December, claiming to be an officer with the Duncan Police Department. The State's Criminal Justice Academy claims they have no record of Wright being a certified law enforcement officer.
SLED says that Wright was a certified security guard. In 2016, Wright was charged with assault after he reportedly punched an employee at Haywood Mall while working there as a security guard.
