
An Upstate teen is set to spend the next two decades behind bars after a crime spree, last year. 18 year old, NyJawon Williams of Spartanburg pleaded guilty to multiple counts of attempted murder, armed robbery, carjacking, a weapons violation and multiple other charges.
He was sentenced to 20 years in the state prison system for the attempted murder, armed robbery, and carjacking charges. Williams was also given a total of 30 years on the charges, with those sentences set to run concurrently.
The charges stem from multiple incidents in September of 2022. Williams and two others carjacked two men and fired shots at them injuring one of the two victims.
Court documents say, Williams and his cohorts broke into Smart Pawn in Spartanburg three consecutive during the week of September 5th of last year.
Williams was taken into custody September 8th after a police chase. He was found in a stolen car with an AR style weapon. "
