Upstate town councilman arrested on warrant from the Low Country

A council member in one Upstate town has been arrested on outstanding warrants stemming from an alleged incident in the Low Country. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says Blacksburg Councilman Darren Michael Janesky was wanted on warrants from Jasper County.

He faces a charged of malicious property damage there after allegedly breaking the card reader off of an air machine. Janesky was taken back to Jasper County, Wednesday to face the charge.

In addition to being on the council, Janesky also serves at Mayor Pro Temp of Blacksburg.
