Upstate woman charged in connection to 2016 murder

An Upstate woman has been charged in conjunction with a 6 year old murder case. On Wednesday, the Simpsonville Police Dept. announced the arrest of 23 year old, Hannah Elizabeth Thompson in connection to the 2016 murder of Catherine Blauvelt.

Thompson was the girlfriend of Catherine's estranged husband , John Blauvelt. In October of 2016, Catherine Blauvelt was found dead in an abandoned house in Simpsonville. John Blauvelt and Hannah Thompson fled the area together prior to Catherine's body being discovered.

John Blauvelt was captured in Oregon by U.S. Marshals after a 6 year man hunt. He's set to stand trial for his wife's murder after being denied bond.

Thompson is currently being held in the Greenville County Jail. She faces is charged with Concealing A Felony, Accessory After The Face and two counts of Obstructing Justice.
