A suspect is in custody after eluding initially police during a chase in North Georgia. The Lavonia Police Department says the suspect, Caleb Key was taken into custody Friday morning at the Quality Inn on Jones Street.
Police say Key fled Thursday afternoon after an attempted traffic stop on Highway 17. The chase reached speeds of over 90 miles per hour. Police say Key was seen throwing a plastic bag from the vehicle during the chase.
He then drove into Hart County, where he pulled off and ran on foot. Key reportedly left two children in the car.
He was taken into custody after walking back to Lavonia from Hart County. Key faces a list of charges including felony eluding.
