A wanted fugitive is in custody after a traffic stop in Western North Carolina late last week. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office says deputies and the U.S. Marshals pulled over a vehicle driven by Robert Edward Burgin.
He was wanted on felony warrants stemming from a prior incident in Asheville. A search of the vehicle turned up nearly an ounce of fentanyl, 9 grams of crack and drug paraphernalia.
Burgin faces charges of trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and other crimes.
