The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force has recently said for the 1st time, that adults under 65 in America should be screened for anxiety. The Task Force is a group of "experts" whose opinions help guide the decisions of doctors. The drafted opinion by the task force is not final, but is now entering a public comment period. The panel says, screening would help identify anxiety disorder early. The panel also says, that the Covid pandemic led to a surge in new anxiety and depression cases. When you think about all the factors that the American people are dealing with like the impact of the pandemic, worsening financial situations, surging inflation and possible upcoming food shortages, that could very well be the combination that leads to a nationwide mental health crisis.
