WNC Lotto winner plans to help those affected by Helene

A Western North Carolina man who hit big in the lottery says he will help his family members build back after Hurricane Helene. Erik Kreiner of Weaverville won half a million dollars in the North Carolina Education Lottery last week.

He won in a second chance drawing and in addition to Kreiner there was a million dollar winner and 10 people who won 50 grand each. Kreiner claimed his prize on Friday and after taxes went home with $358,000 dollars.


He says he plans to help family members who were heavily impacted by the Hurricane.
