A Western North Carolina man will spend at least decade in prison after an armed robbery at a pharmacy last year. Officials say 37 year old, John Wesley Burleson of Buncombe County robbed a CVS pharmacy in Weaverville, in February of 2025.
Investigators say Burleson was armed with a knife during the robbery and demanded prescription narcotics. He left the scene with various prescription substances that were later recovered by police officers.
Burleson has multiple prior convictions and is considered a habitual offender. He will serve between 10 and 13 years in the North Carolina state prison system.
