A Western North Carolina man will spend over two decades behind bars after pleading guilty to gun and drug charges.
The U.S. Department of Justice says 50 year old, Grey Alan Hester of Candler trafficked meth and fentanyl in multiple Western North Carolina counties from 2021 to 2023.
Court records say, Hester tried using a fake ID at Harrah's Casino in 2023. Over 11 grand in cash, fentanyl and a handgun were found on Hester during the incident.
A subsequent search of Hester's house uncovered fentanyl and meth, along with multiple guns. Hester pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute meth and fentanyl and multiple weapons violations.
Hester has been sentenced to 21 years in federal prison, there's no early release in the federal system.
