An alleged drug trafficker is facing charges after police in Western North Carolina say she tried to throw drugs out of a moving car while evading a traffic stop.
The Franklin Police Department says the incident happened on Highway 441 Tuesday afternoon. Police say the driver initially pulled over but then drove away from officers, leading them on a chase. The Macon County Sheriff's Office then joined the chase.
The woman, identified as 37 year old Adrienne Nicole Carver, then reportedly began throwing large amounts of meth out of the vehicle's window. Police were able to get Carver stopped and took her into custody.
Police say, nearly two pounds of meth was recovered. Carver is charged with trafficking meth, eluding arrest, destroying evidence and multiple other charges.
