A woman is dead after falling more than 70 feet from a hiking trail in Western North Carolina, over the weekend. First responders were dispatched to Big Bradley Falls in Saluda, Sunday.
Crews from Polk County Emergency Management, Saluda and Mill Spring Fire Departments all responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found that a woman had fallen from the trail and landed 75-100 feet below.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say this marks at least the 7th death at Big Bradley Falls in the last 25 years.
The identity of the woman has not been released, as of the time of this report.
