The heat wave has struck hard as a Upstate woman died yesterday from heat exhaustion. The Anderson County Coroner's Office says the death was accidental and that the woman has been out in extreme temperatures.
The National Weather Service says the high yesterday in Anderson was 98 degrees with a heat index at nearly 110. The coroner's office has not identified the deceased, as of the time of this report.
It marks the 1st heat related death in Anderson County this year.
