The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Services announced Cargill Meat Solutions is recalling over 16,000 pounds of raw ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli.
Initially announced as a nationwide recall, Cargill Meats says the recalled beef was shipped to Walmart's in 12 states. North Carolina being one of those states. Many of the products being recalled are branded under the "All Natural" label and were produced on April 26-27, 2024. To view the labels, find a link HERE
Although no illnesses have been reported, young children, elderly and those with a weakened immune system are at highest risk of complications from E. coli. The bacteria can cause severe stomach cramping, vomiting, nausea and diarrhea. Should anyone have any packages of the recalled beef, throw it away or return it to the store where it was purchased.
