A high speed chase landed a Florence man in jail after a Deputy was injured and drugs were found on the suspect.
The Florence County Sheriff's Office attempted to pull over a vehicle, allegedly involved with drag racing Thursday, February 22, 2024. Rather than pull over, the suspect led law enforcement on a high speed chase, which ended when the suspect crashed into another Deputies vehicle.
The driver, 34 year old Jamelle Rashad Goodman Sr., tried to run, but didn't get far before he was arrested.
Authorities found meth and cocaine on Goodman which amassed trafficking and possession charges along with racing, failure to stop for blue lights and resisting arrest. Goodman is being held in the Florence County Detention Center.
The injured Deputy was sent to the hospital, but has since been released.
